about
As the final spike was driven into the ground, the idea of a transcontinental railroad was realized. This facilitated expansion at such a rate that the Native American population was no more than a problem in need of an answer. As the plains saw more and more settlement, an idea was born that would help eradicate any people that continued to hang on. Cut off the last of the resourced and starve out the rest.
Nearly 50 million buffalo originally grazed on lands from Alaska down into Mexico. By 1840, 30 million buffalo remained. In 1880, 400,000 were left, and by 1900, 300 were all that remained. This scorched earth policy was seen as the fastest and quickest way to subdue the remaining bands of Native Americans. Fur trappers and traders saw the destruction of many different animals, but none so bad as the buffalo.
lyrics
Roaming the hillsides grazing the land
Innumerable beasts in the shadows of mountains
Spirits of life signal death for all men
A gift meant for all soon to meet their demise
Setting their sights on the staples of others
A plague that is looming like clouds in the sky
As god preaches on that all men are brothers
Your claim is that demons are stealing your rights
Wantonly kill what you cant tame
Your sense of worth is not innate
A trail of dead lies in your wake
Unused and left to rot away
A product, a diction
Constructed a victim
Brought near to extinction
Emptied of all that made it great
Freedom of movement has become a curse
Over inflated are egos, importance and worth
Steaming ahead to the vastness beyond
Where you piled your problems that you wanted gone
Finding yourself once encroaching again
An enclosement of steel, lashing out from within
The gunpowder cracks and the knives now unsheathed
A mountain of bone when the smoke, it has cleared
Once herds roamed 30 millions strong
Now dwindle to the point of none
Erased from modern history
Found on your 5 cent piece
No we will never get them back
That much is a genetic fact
Specters of what they used to be
No longer roam a golden sea
A Pagan black metal masterpiece.
Folk and black metal elements fuse into one extremely catchy and awe inspiring album. This band does not disappoint from all the high praise sent it's way. Abyssius Murkraken
