yer tellin lies to keep them coming back so they believe that they are prepped for redemption it's in yer eyes, the stories hold the truth that's why yer preaching it with no hesitation leading the blind with a false sense of purpose death will always be cold and mirthless no light will guide you back home to the city in the sky where the angels roam it lessens opinions of ones self worth striving for love but condemned since birth a lifetime of proving that yer worth his grace but in death you won't find his warm embrace it's time to replace yer faith, substitute it with reason stop taking morals from a book that is largely indecent pick and choose through the verses the rules which to follow how come the biggest lies seem so easy to swallow 10 percent has turned this into a business as part time employees it's yer job to bear witness christian tv, hospitals and schools any comment against it is a war on yer views keep yer god out of the state we aren't led by a cross clinging on to a faith that's been lost to the sciences developed, tested and true denial of facts makes you look like a fool pray away the sins of a country send bibles to people malnourished and hungry can't save yer body, let's save yer soul bow down and give thanks for the pain you behold cry but accept it when prayers go unanswered while he spreads aids, hepatitis and cancer give thanks when you find strength to work through yer problems be proud of yerself because you actually solved them no man looks down from the sky keeping us safe with a kind watchful eye omnipotent, but prone to deny turning his back he will never reply

Thrall 02:51
thirty thousand prisoners now dwindles down to an honest few signatures signed but the straps have been tied you'd never choose to be fed through a tube rights revoked, among them the choice to sacrifice yerself for those without a voice twenty three hours locked in a cage for ten fucking years and you call this humane what do you call a country that tortures it's citizens quotas set for arrests and incarceration i call it a terrorist nation what isn't wrong about an industry built on suffering sixty seven percent make the same mistake but nobody tries to reform the state can't you see, the people they hurt are no different than you or me there are certainly people who only want to harm some don't wind up in prison but instead with a badge and a uniform we are all accessories producing the same things we hate fostering resentments built on differences between class and race it's just the physical embodiment of what you should fear a civilized reminder that you can't interfere
3.
Typhoid Mary 02:48
they're holding you against yer will isolated and you scream at night you scream at night that you never did anything wrong still the bloods on yer hands you can't plead ignorance she's down on her knees begging to be free but she's a walking disease Mary Mallon a black shadow follows you through yer work he extends his hands Mary Mallon yer whole life was taken from you stuck forever on the north island everybody knows yer name the most dangerous woman in america has stuck again now the sympathy you once had is gone replaced by the blood lust the public feels when it's been wronged

i close my eyes and return to the earth that conceived me that i never know compromise in the face of the beast as my mind is released back to which everything first came and to which it will be reclaimed wheres the beauty in life when it's undermined by the so called great divine deceive yerself with the grace of god but you'll still know death because yer faith is flawed everyone is a savior in death transcend into holiness through the dark you will know the comfort of finding yer worth as you rot in the dirt enter in to oblivion knowing well that we will not rise again may we never find audience with gods or men as we meet the end stand strong in the face of fear regret not when the end is near the world is caving in we'll find our path far away from heaven

The Storm 04:41
Train yer eyes on the fast approaching storm keep yer head clear, subdue yer fear and fight for the ones you mourn there is nothing left of the old world now winds tear apart and the waves wash away the work of the sweated brow try to keep the voices from burning out stifle creation built on mistake and docility earned by knout tear down the borders that fragment the world erased all disparity with solidarity our black flag will be unfurled walk through the inferno flames dance as they kiss your skin nothing compares to the violent flares of the fire that burns within wavering on convictions human nature isn't set those that debate that greed is innate pose to us the greatest threat this is our war, we have a right to put actions behind our speech few men get the chance to declare a stance and practice the things we preach so stand up, but aside all the differences that we hold born into constraints be we'll die without chains if we just learn to break the mold try to keep the voices from burning out stifle creation built on mistake and docility earned by knout tear down the borders that fragment the world erased all disparity with solidarity our black flag will be unfurled out of the ashes we rise as we shed our chains bask in the glory for we achieved victory free from collapsing veins lift up yer faces cleansed in the gentle rain the storm dissipated and left us elated with only the world to gain we are the storm ripping yer country apart purging the structure we are the cure to indifference in yer heart we won't be fooled, confusing fever with disease let spirits be filled as we start to rebuild in a land without crooks and thieves

Thayer-ism 05:48
blind convictions, clouded opinions a picture painted with some broad stroke decisions humility gleaned when the shameful smoke clears and arrogance shed for a life lived in fear a fine example of justice dismantled and ravaged by hawks till it works for the anglo-american policy bound, gag and jail we worked so hard to to prosper to let the law stop our prevail it might not be publicized but intolerance trumps reason most all of the time xenophobic and thirsty for blood we created a monster that seeks it from us too many times it gets blown out of proportion through tacit coercion we'll start the show once everybody knows their part not in america, but underneath it the weight of a country ordained to the weakest while men so deserving of gods given glory crusade for the right to exploit the abhorrent shrug off the pleas for peace give into empathy when foreign people speak don't kick them in the teeth nationalism is a danger to most watch it poison the people who constantly choose to be host it might not be publicized but intolerance trumps reason most all of the time xenophobic and thirsty for blood we created a monster that seeks it from us too many times it gets blown out of proportion through tacit coercion we'll start the show once everybody knows their part playing into the madness, fueled by yer ignorance help the persecuted and the victim because they will be your better friend you have a choice use yer voice to proclaim i won't be used to achieve yer end

about

This is the first Dead Work album that was recorded with a full band! I seriously can't thank all my friends enough for taking time out of their schedules to practice and record Plain Words. The cover of Stand There Until You're Sober is a dedication to Bomb the Music Industry!, who inspired me in so many ways over the years, as well as all my wonderful friends and the memories we share. Thank you to everyone who downloads, copies, shares or buys my music!

If for some reason, I run out of the 200 free downloads they allow me per month, send me an email at deadworkmusic@gmail.com and I'll send ya a link for a free download.
